Refugee Community Organisations (RCOs) play a fundamental role in helping refugees become integrated in Welsh society. The organisations are led by refugees and have become an integral part of community life for many individuals. Whilst providing a safe space for asylum seekers and refugees to become involved in projects, classes and activities. RCOs also inform, assist and advocate on behalf of refugee communities.
The Welsh Refugee Council is currently working on developing a Refugee Community Organisation network which will take the leading role in all activities related to changing perceptions about asylum seekers, refugees and migrants and create increased community cohesion in their communities across Wales.
